Thank you all for a wonderful week last week! Our Tigers were full of Spirit throughout the week, and did such a great job during the Tigerthon. Thank you to the PTA and to all who contributed to make it such a great experience for our students and staff. Students ended a fun week by cheering for ECHS during their Homecoming Parade.
November is National Native American Heritage Month. Be sure to talk to your child(ren) about the contributions of Native Americans. This is a time to recognize culture, traditions, languages, and history. Here is one resource: Free Learning Resources for Native American Heritage Month | Common Sense Education.

- P-EBT 4.0 is the final reload of PEBT benefits, since the federal public health emergency ended this year. This round should have been reloaded and distributed by now, but they send out cards alphabetically by child first name so some families may receive them later than others.
- Did you know there is a “little library” outside the front office where you can take and leave books?

Thank you to everyone who contributed to get us this far! We raised almost $22,000 out of our $30,000 goal. Even though the main events are over it’s not too late for friends and family to donate.
Five Little Monkeys Give Back Program November 1st – 15th
Our school’s code is HARDING2023 and when applied to online purchases made between November 1-15, 2023, Five Little Monkeys will donate 15% of the pre-tax total back to your school/organization, as long as the code is used at least 3 times or the subtotal for your organization is at least $200 during the promotional period (11/1-11/15/2023)
- Remember to use the code online or tell the cashier in-store

Volunteer Opportunities
2-3 Volunteers are needed for the Harding PTA Nominating Committee!
It’s a very small time commitment (~1-2 hours total over February – April). Please contact Andrea Wildenberg at parliamentarian@hardingpta.org if you are interested in joining, or just want to learn more about what it entails.
Ongoing Needs
Harding is lucky to have an active parent community – everyone’s help is welcome and appreciated! Here are ways you can volunteer:
- AT LUNCH/RECESS: Sign Up HERE for for play yard and lunch recess volunteering for 2023/24. We’re asking families to sign up for 4 days/year. More info.
- IN THE GARDEN: Drop in (on the yard) Mondays 9:30 – 10:45 to help the garden coordinators with kids in the garden. Sign up here to help with Garden projects. Run a second day/week with kids in the garden (email the garden coordinators)
- IN THE CLASSROOM: Assist individual students or small groups with reading, math, or science activities – contact your student’s teacher
- FUNDRAISING: Assist with flamingo flocking, the Spring auction, the walk/roll-a-thon or read-a-thon etc.! (email the fundraising chair)
- OTHER SKILLS: Whatever else you have to offer!
Contact the Volunteer Coordinator with questions or to work on your own volunteer ideas!
Remember to get your volunteer badge either at the district office or during an upcoming Fingerprinting Party.

All Are Welcome, No Specific Skills Required.
The PTA will meet on the 1st Tuesday of September, October, December, February, April and May, unless alternative information is provided.
Community input and involvement are crucial to how the PTA works and the programs that we fund and provide to all students. Attending meetings and connecting to PTA communications on Slack, the weekly Enewsletter, and Hardingpta.org will ensure that you are in the loop and your voice is heard!

Ongoing Needs
- AT LUNCH/RECESS: Sign Up HERE for for play yard and lunch recess volunteering for 2023/24. We’re asking families to sign up for 4 days/year. More info.
- IN THE GARDEN: Drop in (on the yard) Mondays 9:30 – 10:45 (Tues of Labor Day week) to help the garden coordinators with kids in the garden. Sign up here to help with Garden projects. Run a second day/week with kids in the garden (email the garden coordinators)
- IN THE CLASSROOM: Assist individual students or small groups with reading, math, or science activities (contact your student’s teacher about classroom opportunities)
- FUNDRAISING: Assist with flamingo flocking, the Spring auction, the walk/roll-a-thon or read-a-thon etc.! or come up with your own idea/event! (email pending! for now contact the Volunteer Coordinator)
- SCHOOL WIDE EVENTS: Chaperone field trips, help with a holiday event or the Spring Concert, etc. (contact the Volunteer Coordinator)
- OTHER SKILLS NEEDED: Whatever else you have to offer!

Remember to get your volunteer badge either at the district office or during an upcoming Fingerprinting Party.

The PTA will meet on the 1st Tuesday of September, October, December, February, April and May, unless alternative information is provided.
