PTA Message
Legislative Committee Update: Preparing Our Schools for a Changing Climate
As temperatures continue to rise across California, our newly established PTA Legislative Committee is ramping up efforts to advocate for safer, more climate-resilient school environments. We are beginning work on long-term solutions such as permanent shade structures, and improved classroom temperature and air quality.
Our first step is launching a community template letter campaign—a simple but powerful way for families to share their voices with district leaders and decision-makers. We encourage all members of our community to participate and help demonstrate the urgency of these needs.
At the same time, we’re taking immediate action. Join us next Sunday (4/26, 11am) on campus to help set up shade tents and support students during warmer days ahead. Your time makes a real difference in keeping our school community safe and comfortable. (We’re also looking for volunteers to join this ongoing effort—whether through advocacy, planning, or hands-on support. If you’re interested in contributing, we’d love to have you involved.)
Together, we can create a healthier, more sustainable learning environment for all our students.

Our volunteer coordinator/s are hard at work coordinating with room parents, PTA committees, and Harding staff. Please reach out if you’ve got some time and energy to spare this year.
If you are interested in volunteering on campus or on study trips, please begin the process by visiting the District volunteer page: Volunteers. If you already have your district volunteer badge (nice work!) be sure to make an appointment with the teacher prior to volunteering in class. Always sign-in with the front office when volunteering. A visible volunteer badge must be worn at all times when on campus. Whenever on campus, remember to be mindful of student confidentiality.

The PTA will meet on the 1st Tuesday of every month, unless alternative information is provided.
Community input and involvement are crucial to how the PTA works and the programs that we fund and provide to all students. Attending meetings and connecting to PTA communications on Slack, the weekly Enews newsletter, and Hardingpta.org will ensure that you are in the loop and your voice is heard!

Actualización del Comité Legislativo: Preparando Nuestras Escuelas para un Clima Cambiante
A medida que las temperaturas continúan aumentando en California, nuestro recién establecido Comité Legislativo de la PTA está intensificando los esfuerzos para abogar por entornos escolares más seguros y resilientes al clima. Estamos comenzando a trabajar en soluciones a largo plazo como estructuras de sombra permanentes y la mejora de la temperatura y calidad del aire en las aulas.
Nuestro primer paso es lanzar una campaña de carta modelo comunitaria, una forma sencilla pero poderosa para que las familias compartan sus voces con los líderes del distrito y los responsables de la toma de decisiones. 立法委員会アップデート：変化する気候に備える学校づくり
カリフォルニア全体で気温の上昇が続く中、新たに設立されたPTA立法委員会では、より安全で気候変動に強い学校環境を実現するための取り組みを強化しています。恒久的な日よけ設備の設置や、教室内の温度・空気環境の改善といった長期的な対策の検討を進めています。
最初の取り組みとして、地域向けテンプレートレター・キャンペーンを開始します。これは、ご家庭の声を学区のリーダーや意思決定者に届けるための、シンプルでありながら非常に効果的な方法です。ぜひ多くの皆さまにご参加いただき、この問題の緊急性を伝えていきましょう。
同時に、即時的な対応も進めています。
来週日曜日（4月26日・午前11時）に校内で日よけテント設営のボランティアを行います。
これからの暑い日々に向けて、生徒たちが安全で快適に過ごせる環境づくりに、ぜひご協力ください。
また、この継続的な取り組みに参加してくださるボランティアも募集しています。政策提言、企画、現場サポートなど、さまざまな形で関わっていただけます。ご興味のある方はぜひご参加ください。
