PTA Message
We’re excited to share several important updates from your PTA this week!
After much effort, we’ve received approval to launch our 1st grade literacy tutoring program, Chapter 1—an important step in supporting early reading success. We’re also rolling out a new PTA-supported early morning drop-off program to better serve our families’ schedules.
In addition, we’ve established a PTA Legislative Committee to stay informed and engaged on issues impacting our school community. If you’re interested in joining, we’d love to hear from you. (Thank you Ellen Beaulieu for heading this up! With PTA support, Ellen was able to attend a PTA in public education conference last month to represent our community and bring back what she learned. Check in at general meetings for ongoing activity…)
As funding uncertainties continue, we are actively working to identify the best ways to support our students and teachers. At the same time, we’re busy working towards next year’s PTA board elections and leadership transitions to ensure this important work continues.

Our team is collaborating with local businesses again to bring you a great selection of auction items this year. But part of the charm comes from your donations and offerings too. Please reach out if your family has something unique and personal to contribute. (Examples from the past include a family time-share or rental, handmade ceramics, a back-yard tiki party, a playdate with bunny rabbits…) We welcome your creativity!

Our volunteer coordinator/s are hard at work coordinating with room parents, PTA committees, and Harding staff. Please reach out if you’ve got some time and energy to spare this year.
If you are interested in volunteering on campus or on study trips, please begin the process by visiting the District volunteer page: Volunteers. If you already have your district volunteer badge (nice work!) be sure to make an appointment with the teacher prior to volunteering in class. Always sign-in with the front office when volunteering. A visible volunteer badge must be worn at all times when on campus. Whenever on campus, remember to be mindful of student confidentiality.

Spotted at the Boot Classic: Coach Jody and our Harding kickballers! Post-game statement from the coach: “One of the Harding teams made it to the championship game, and just barely lost to Madera. The boot is theirs for now, but we will be back next year! Thank you families for hanging in the heat for 5 hours that day! The kids had a blast!” THANK YOU, Coach Jody, for making this happen!

All Are Welcome, No Specific Skills Required.
The PTA will meet on the 1st Tuesday of every month, unless alternative information is provided.
Community input and involvement are crucial to how the PTA works and the programs that we fund and provide to all students. Attending meetings and connecting to PTA communications on Slack, the weekly Enews newsletter, and Hardingpta.org will ensure that you are in the loop and your voice is heard!

¡Estamos emocionados de compartir varias actualizaciones importantes de su PTA esta semana!
Después de mucho esfuerzo, hemos recibido la aprobación para lanzar nuestro programa de tutoría de alfabetización para primer grado, Capítulo 1, un paso importante para apoyar el éxito en la lectura temprana. También estamos implementando un nuevo programa de entrega matutina apoyado por la PTA para servir mejor a los horarios de nuestras familias.
Además, hemos establecido un Comité Legislativo de la PTA para mantenernos informados y comprometidos con los temas que afectan a nuestra comunidad escolar. Si estás interesado en unirte, nos encantaría saber de ti.
