PTA Message
Dear Harding Families,
The WCCUSD Board recently voted on a series of difficult budget reduction measures. We know that news like this can feel concerning, and we want to share this information with you directly, clearly, and thoughtfully.
While we are still reviewing the full scope and specific implications of these decisions, it is clear that the district is facing significant financial challenges that required hard choices. At this time, we do not have all the details about how Harding Elementary may be impacted, but we are actively working to understand what these changes mean for our school community. For example, the Harding site budget (through School Site Council) is being cut by 50%. And band will need to be funded differently. The PTA will stand in to cover as much as we can to keep all of our programs going. But in order to do this, we need great big Tiger support of the upcoming fundraisers. Please keep this in mind when donating for the rest of the year.
We want to acknowledge the seriousness of this moment while also reassuring you: Harding has a strong, connected community. Your PTA Executive Board is committed to staying informed, communicating transparently, and partnering closely with school leadership and the district. As we learn more, we will continue to share updates and opportunities for engagement.
In times like these, steady leadership and collaboration matter most. Our focus remains on supporting our students, our educators, and one another. If you have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are here, and we are committed to navigating this together.

Fundraising!
Dear Harding Families,
We’re excited to share that, for the third year in a row, Harding is partnering with Mr. Mopps’ Toy Store for our Annual Book Fair!
Mark your calendars for March 14th and 15th and join us for story time at Mr. Mopps’ with our favorite librarian, Mr. C, along with several of our wonderful Harding teachers. It’s always a cozy, joyful event for students and families alike.
Even better, 20% of all sales will go directly to support Harding’s Enrichment Programs. Every purchase helps fund the meaningful learning experiences that make our school community so special.
This is a great opportunity to spark a love of reading while giving back to Harding. We’ll share more details soon about event times and how to participate.

Our volunteer coordinator/s are hard at work coordinating with room parents, PTA committees, and Harding staff. Please reach out if you’ve got some time and energy to spare this year.
If you are interested in volunteering on campus or on study trips, please begin the process by visiting the District volunteer page: Volunteers. If you already have your district volunteer badge (nice work!) be sure to make an appointment with the teacher prior to volunteering in class. Always sign-in with the front office when volunteering. A visible volunteer badge must be worn at all times when on campus. Whenever on campus, remember to be mindful of student confidentiality.
Eye of the Tiger: Insights into the halls & heart of Harding
Spotted soon at Mr. Mopps: A line-up of storytelling by Harding teachers! If you’ve never been to our book fair, it’s so charming and you should join us this year. Teachers read from their favorite books, while we all sit around them ‘circle-time style’ and then shop grade/reader-level books in support of public education.

ハーディングのご家庭の皆さまへ
WCCUSD理事会は最近、一連の厳しい予算削減措置について採決を行いました。このようなニュースは不安を感じさせるものだと思いますので、皆さまに直接、分かりやすく、丁寧にお伝えしたいと思います。

今年で3年連続となりますが、ハーディングは Mr. Mopps’ Toy Store と提携し、年次ブックフェアを開催することになりました！
3月14日・15日 をカレンダーにぜひご予定ください。
Mr. Mopps’ では、私たちの大好きな司書 Mr. C と、ハーディングの素晴らしい先生方数名による ストーリータイム も予定されています。生徒やご家族にとって、毎年とても温かく楽しいイベントです。
さらに嬉しいことに、売上の20％がハーディングのエンリッチメントプログラムの支援として寄付されます。
皆さまのお買い物が、学校コミュニティを豊かにする大切な学びの機会の支えになります。
読書の楽しさを広げながらハーディングを応援できる素晴らしい機会です。イベントの時間や参加方法などの詳細は、後日お知らせします。

ボランティアコーディネーターが、すでにルームペアレントやPTA委員会、ハーディングのスタッフと連携して活動を始めています。今年、少しでも時間やエネルギーを分けていただける方は、ぜひご連絡ください。
校内や学習旅行でのボランティアに興味のある方は、まず地区のボランティアページ（Volunteers）から手続きを開始してください。すでに地区のボランティアバッジをお持ちの方（素晴らしいです！）は、教室で活動する前に必ず先生とアポイントを取ってください。
また、校内でボランティアをする際には、必ず事務室でサインインをし、ボランティアバッジを見えるように着用してください。加えて、校内にいる際には生徒のプライバシーに十分ご配慮をお願いします。

もうすぐ Mr. Mopps で見られる光景：ハーディングの先生たちによるストーリーテリング！
まだブックフェアに来たことがない方は、ぜひ今年参加してみてください。本当に素敵なイベントです。先生たちがそれぞれお気に入りの本を読み聞かせし、みんなで「サークルタイム」のように周りに座って楽しみます。その後、学年や読書レベルに合った本を選んで購入することで、公教育の支援にもつながります。

PTAは毎月の第1火曜日に会議を開催しますが、変更がある場合はお知らせします。
コミュニティからの意見や関与は、PTAの活動や資金提供するプログラムにとって重要です。会議に参加し、PTAのSlack、週刊Enewsニュースレター、Hardingpta.orgに接続することで、情報を把握し、あなたの声が届くようにしましょう！
