PTA Message
Dear Harding Families,
We’re excited to share full details about Harding Elementary’s Early Morning Drop-Off Pilot Program, launching this spring!
This program provides free, supervised care before school for a small group of students whose families need earlier drop-off due to work or similar obligations. Funded by the PTA, this pilot is being offered to a limited group of 20 students, selected via a fair lottery process. (10 students will be enrolled by lottery draw, 10 will be chosen by the front office based on known needs.)
Program Details:
- When: Weekdays, 7:35–8:20 a.m.
- Where: Harding Auditorium (Fairmount side entrance)
- Who: Supervised by Harding staff
- Cost: Free
- How: Students are walked to the yard at 8:20 a.m.
Participation Requirements:
Before signing up, please review the full Participation Agreement which includes:
- Daily sign-in by parent/guardian
- Behavior and attendance expectations
- No food or drink (except water)
- Agreement to school/district policies (phones, conduct, etc.)
- Liability waiver (sent separately upon acceptance)
How to Sign Up:
A lottery sign-up form will be posted/sent out next week (March 4th) and remain open for 2 weeks. Families selected for participation will be notified March 18th.
*Reminder: This is a limited-capacity pilot. Only 20 students will be selected. Waitlisted families will be notified and may be invited later if space becomes available.

Fundraising!
It’s a pink plastic midwinter miracle: the flamingos began their 5th Annual El Cerrito winter migration on February 3rd! Support the PTA by sending a flock flamingos to a friend’s front yard: A sliding scale donation will get birds perching for 48 hours in the location of your choice. Your donation supports enrichments like PE, the Garden Program, the Art Cart, field trips, assemblies, books, and more!

committee to support our upcoming elections.
If you are interested in serving on this vital committee responsible for electing our open

30-45 minute meetings to discuss candidates and share the nominations with the broader
community.

Our volunteer coordinator/s are hard at work coordinating with room parents, PTA committees, and Harding staff. Please reach out if you’ve got some time and energy to spare this year.
If you are interested in volunteering on campus or on study trips, please begin the process by visiting the District volunteer page: Volunteers. If you already have your district volunteer badge (nice work!) be sure to make an appointment with the teacher prior to volunteering in class. Always sign-in with the front office when volunteering. A visible volunteer badge must be worn at all times when on campus. Whenever on campus, remember to be mindful of student confidentiality.

Spotted in the library: A New Board for spring! Our amazing library is run by our librarian, Mr. C, and a team of parent volunteers. It’s a magical space where generations of Harding Tigers have discovered a love for literature. Thanks, library team, for all you do. The new board might be our favorite one yet!

ハーディングのご家庭の皆さまへ
この春スタートする ハーディング小学校 早朝ドロップオフ・パイロットプログラム の詳細をお知らせできることを嬉しく思います。
本プログラムは、仕事などの事情で通常より早い登校が必要なご家庭のために、無料の見守り付きケアを提供するものです。PTAの資金により実施されるこのパイロットは、20名限定で、公平な抽選により選ばれます。
（10名は抽選、10名は既知の必要性に基づきフロントオフィスが選定します。）
プログラム詳細
日時： 平日 7:35〜8:20
場所： ハーディング講堂（Fairmount側入口）
担当： ハーディング職員
費用： 無料
流れ： 8:20に校庭へ引率
参加条件
お申し込み前に、以下を含む**参加同意書（Participation Agreement）**をご確認ください。
- 保護者／保護者代行による毎日のサインイン
- 行動および出席に関する規定
- 飲食禁止（水のみ可）
- 学校／学区の方針（携帯電話、行動規範など）への同意
- 免責同意書（参加確定後に別途送付）
申込方法
抽選申込フォームは来週（3月4日）に公開・配信予定で、2週間受付します。
参加が決定したご家庭には3月18日に通知いたします。
※本プログラムは定員制のパイロットです。選ばれなかったご家庭にはウェイトリストのご案内をし、空きが出た場合にご連絡します。
ハーディングの素晴らしいご家庭を支援する新たな取り組みとして、このパイロットを実施できることを誇りに思います。ご質問がありましたら、vp@hardingpta.org またはフロントオフィスまでご連絡ください。

ピンクのプラスチックでできた、真冬の奇跡です。
フラミンゴたちが 2月3日 に第5回エルセリート冬の大移動を開始しました！
PTAを応援するために、フラミンゴの群れをお友だちの前庭に送りませんか？
スライディングスケール方式の寄付で、ご希望の場所に 48時間 フラミンゴがとまります。
皆さまからのご寄付は、体育（PE）、ガーデンプログラム、アートカート、校外学習、集会、本の購入など、さまざまな教育支援に使われます。
寄付は、下記のQRコードまたはリンクからPayPalページにて行ってください。
寄付の処理が完了すると、約30秒後に自動的に申込フォームへリダイレクトされます（少し長く感じるかもしれませんが、そのままお待ちいただき、PayPalの確認画面は閉じないでください）。
数に限りがありますので、お早めにお申し込みください。

A note from the gardening committee: *Change of day/time
We’re switching our work slot to Tuesday mornings 9:30 – 11. If people have their badge and want to come help, we just clean up the beds and help the kids with weeding!

2026/27年度の新学年（もう6年生／7年生への進級に備える時期ですね？！）が、あっという間に近づいてきました。これからも生徒たちを支え続けるためには、強く、積極的に関わるPTAが必要です。
私たちはあなたの力を必要としています！
そして、あなたのお友だちの力も！
新しい役割の募集・選出・引き継ぎ・トレーニングを始める時期に入っています。
執行部メンバー、各種委員会、ボランティアのサブグループなど、PTAは常にメンバーが入れ替わりながら成り立つ組織です。現在のPTAメンバーの多くが、規約で定められた任期の終了を迎えるか、お子さんの卒業が近づいています。
今は、見学（シャドーイング）をしたり、役割について学んだりするのに最適なタイミングです。
ご興味のある方、または「この人なら合いそう！」という方をご存じでしたら、ぜひご紹介ください。皆さんからのご連絡をお待ちしています！

ボランティアコーディネーターが、すでにルームペアレントやPTA委員会、ハーディングのスタッフと連携して活動を始めています。今年、少しでも時間やエネルギーを分けていただける方は、ぜひご連絡ください。
校内や学習旅行でのボランティアに興味のある方は、まず地区のボランティアページ（Volunteers）から手続きを開始してください。すでに地区のボランティアバッジをお持ちの方（素晴らしいです！）は、教室で活動する前に必ず先生とアポイントを取ってください。
また、校内でボランティアをする際には、必ず事務室でサインインをし、ボランティアバッジを見えるように着用してください。加えて、校内にいる際には生徒のプライバシーに十分ご配慮をお願いします。

私たちの素晴らしい図書館は、司書の Mr. C と保護者ボランティアのチームによって運営されています。ここは、世代を超えたハーディング・タイガースたちが読書の楽しさを発見してきた、まさに魔法のような空間です。
図書館チームの皆さん、いつも本当にありがとうございます。今回の新しい掲示板は、これまでで一番のお気に入りかもしれません！
