NEW PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT!
Harding Elementary & the PTA are excited to introduce a new pilot program:
The Harding Early Morning Drop-Off Program
Helping families with early work schedules – launching this spring!
Starting soon, we’re offering early morning drop-off care for a limited number of students. This new service is designed to help families who need to drop off their children earlier than the regular school day start.
What You Need to Know:
- Program Start Date: End of March
- Time: 7:35 a.m. – 8:20 a.m.
- Location: Harding Auditorium (entry via Fairmount side door)
- Supervised by: Harding staff
- Capacity: Only 20 students (10 selected by lottery/10 by front office)
- Cost: Free – funded by the Harding PTA!
Roll-Out Timeline:
- Week of Feb.11: Program announced
- Week of Feb. 25: Sign-up & details shared
- Week of March 4: Lottery opens
- Week of March 18: Placements confirmed
Space is limited – sign-up info will be shared after break. Stay tuned!

It’s a pink plastic midwinter miracle: the flamingos began their 5th Annual El Cerrito winter migration on February 3rd! Support the PTA by sending a flock flamingos to a friend’s front yard: A sliding scale donation will get birds perching for 48 hours in the location of your choice. Your donation supports enrichments like PE, the Garden Program, the Art Cart, field trips, assemblies, books, and more!
Make a donation at our PayPal page using the QR code or link below. After your donation is processed you will be automatically redirected to a sign up form after 30 seconds (the wait feels long, hang in there and do not close the Paypal confirmation window!). We are looking for 3-4 individuals who are part of the Harding PTA to serve as the nominating
committee to support our upcoming elections.
If you are interested in serving on this vital committee responsible for electing our open
positions, please fill out this interest form. Participation on this committee likely includes a few
30-45 minute meetings to discuss candidates and share the nominations with the broader
community.

Our volunteer coordinator/s are hard at work coordinating with room parents, PTA committees, and Harding staff. Please reach out if you’ve got some time and energy to spare this year.
If you are interested in volunteering on campus or on study trips, please begin the process by visiting the District volunteer page: Volunteers. If you already have your district volunteer badge (nice work!) be sure to make an appointment with the teacher prior to volunteering in class. Always sign-in with the front office when volunteering. A visible volunteer badge must be worn at all times when on campus. Whenever on campus, remember to be mindful of student confidentiality.
Eye of the Tiger: Insights into the halls & heart of Harding
Spotted on the boards and doors: Creative explorations through Black History Month! Our students are learning about Black History this month, and will be decorating their classroom doors in different ways. Ask them about their classroom door-project, the books they’re reading, the history they are learning… We can keep learning too.

The PTA will meet on the 1st Tuesday of every month, unless alternative information is provided.
Community input and involvement are crucial to how the PTA works and the programs that we fund and provide to all students. Attending meetings and connecting to PTA communications on Slack, the weekly Enews newsletter, and Hardingpta.org will ensure that you are in the loop and your voice is heard!

Necesidades de Voluntarios…
El año escolar 2026/27 (¿Estamos siquiera preparados para el viaje de 6.º/7.º grado?!) se acerca rápidamente. ¡Y va a necesitar una PTA fuerte y comprometida para seguir apoyándolo! ¡Te necesitamos a ti! ¡Necesitamos a tus amigos! Necesitamos reclutar, elegir y comenzar a capacitar nuevos cargos. Cargos en la junta ejecutiva, comités, subgrupos de voluntarios… esta es una organización que está en constante renovación. ハーディング早朝ドロップオフ・プログラム
早朝出勤のあるご家庭をサポート ― この春スタート予定！
まもなく、通常の登校開始時間より早くお子さんを預けられる早朝ドロップオフケアを、人数限定で提供します。この新しいサービスは、通常の登校時間より前にお子さんを預ける必要があるご家庭を支援することを目的としています。

執行部メンバー、各種委員会、ボランティアのサブグループなど、PTAは常にメンバーが入れ替わりながら成り立つ組織です。現在のPTAメンバーの多くが、規約で定められた任期の終了を迎えるか、お子さんの卒業が近づいています。
今は、見学（シャドーイング）をしたり、役割について学んだりするのに最適なタイミングです。

ボランティアコーディネーターが、すでにルームペアレントやPTA委員会、ハーディングのスタッフと連携して活動を始めています。今年、少しでも時間やエネルギーを分けていただける方は、ぜひご連絡ください。
校内や学習旅行でのボランティアに興味のある方は、まず地区のボランティアページ（Volunteers）から手続きを開始してください。すでに地区のボランティアバッジをお持ちの方（素晴らしいです！）は、教室で活動する前に必ず先生とアポイントを取ってください。
また、校内でボランティアをする際には、必ず事務室でサインインをし、ボランティアバッジを見えるように着用してください。加えて、校内にいる際には生徒のプライバシーに十分ご配慮をお願いします。

今月、生徒たちはブラック・ヒストリーについて学び、それぞれのクラスでさまざまなテーマのドア装飾を行っています。
ぜひ、お子さんに聞いてみてください――教室のドアプロジェクトについて、読んでいる本について、学んでいる歴史について…。
私たち大人も、一緒に学び続けていきましょう。

ボランティアの機会は常にあり、私たちは楽しいグループです。特別なスキルは必要ありません。どなたでも歓迎です！
PTAは毎月の第1火曜日に会議を開催しますが、変更がある場合はお知らせします。
コミュニティからの意見や関与は、PTAの活動や資金提供するプログラムにとって重要です。会議に参加し、PTAのSlack、週刊Enewsニュースレター、Hardingpta.orgに接続することで、情報を把握し、あなたの声が届くようにしましょう！
