Volunteer Opportunities
First: obtain district clearance to volunteer (instructions here)
Current needs:
- SPANISH TRANSLATION: We’re hoping to offer more translation options at PTA meetings, etc. And, we’d love some help. If you or someone you know might be interested/able to work with us, please contact the volunteer coordinator. Thank you!
- Besides ongoing needs of lunch/recess support, and classroom support via teacher and room parent requests, it’s time to make plans and think ahead to next year. WE COULD USE YOUR HELP! Public schools need all the love they can get right now. The Harding PTA is committed to the continued work of supporting our students and teachers. And it’s a rewarding, noble effort- with roles for everyone to play. Think about how you’d like to get involved, and reach out. We have so many committees, events, and projects running throughout the year. Step in where and when you can. (None of us are professional PTA-ers. We’re tired guardians who share the load.) Does your family love the ice-cream social? You could help with that. Have a favorite annual fundraising campaign? Join the team behind it. Go to the carnival every year as a tradition, or the campout? You could be a part of it!
Ongoing needs:
- Lunch recess support/presence – sign up here. Our goal is 4 days a year per family. Having extra adult presence on the yard helps students and staff!
- Fundraisers: these happen all year long! email the fundraising chair if you’d like to pitch in

Insights into the halls and heart of Harding…
Spotted- New Color on Campus: The 6th Grade Legacy Wall is a new Harding Tradition! From now on, each 6th grade class will sign a designated color block on the newly painted rainbow wall. Using black and white paint pens, students will personalize their section with names and designs that reflect the legacy they want to leave behind. This year’s 6th graders kicked things off by decorating red/orange blocks. Future classes will follow their lead, adding on to it each year, creating a growing tribute to the students who made memories at Harding.

As a parent/guardian community, we raised roughly $200,000 for our students this year! That’s our largest fundraising year on record. To the helpers, doers, volunteers, givers, encouragers, room parents, committee members…all of you: YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE to this school! It’s an honor to be in community with you.

Join the PTA!
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE join the PTA! It’s very quick to do, and helps us reach our goal of at least 100 members! Joining does not mean you are committing to anything further!
All Are Welcome, No Specific Skills Required.
The PTA will meet on the 1st Tuesday of every month, unless alternative information is provided.
Community input and involvement are crucial to how the PTA works and the programs that we fund and provide to all students. Attending meetings and connecting to PTA communications on Slack, the weekly Enews newsletter, and Hardingpta.org will ensure that you are in the loop and your voice is heard!

發現新色彩－校園新亮點：「六年級傳承牆」是 Harding 的全新傳統！從現在開始，每屆六年級學生都將在新粉刷的彩虹牆上簽名，留下屬於他們的指定色塊。他們將使用黑白色的彩繪筆，在自己的區塊上寫下名字並加入圖案，展現他們想留下的傳承。今年的六年級生率先登場，裝飾了紅色與橘色的區塊。未來的班級將依循這個傳統，每年在牆上接續延伸，創造一面向所有曾在 Harding 創造回憶的學生致敬的傳承牆。

- 昼休み・リセスのサポートや、先生やルームペアレントからの教室サポートの要望といった日々のニーズに加えて、来年度に向けた計画づくりを始める時期です。あなたの助けが必要です！
- 現在、公立学校は多くの支援を必要としています。ハーディングPTAは、今後も生徒と先生を支える活動に尽力していくことを誓っています。やりがいのある、意義深い取り組みであり、誰もが担える役割があります。ご自身がどのような形で関わりたいか、ぜひ考えてみてください。PTAでは、年間を通してさまざまな委員会、イベント、プロジェクトを運営しています。できる時に、できる形で関わっていただければ嬉しいです。
- （私たちはプロのPTAメンバーではありません。皆、日々奮闘する保護者同士で、負担を分け合っているのです。）
- たとえば、アイスクリーム・ソーシャルが好きなご家庭でしたら、その企画・運営に関わることができます。お気に入りの年次募金キャンペーンがあれば、そのチームに加わることも可能です。毎年カーニバルに家族で参加しているなら、そのイベントの一員として活躍してみませんか？

「タイガーの目」
～ハーディングの廊下と心の中の洞察～
発見 ― 校内に新たな彩り：6年生レガシーウォールがハーディングの新しい伝統に！
これからは、各年度の6年生クラスが、新たに塗られたレインボーウォールの指定されたカラーブロックに署名していきます。黒と白のペイントペンを使って、自分たちのセクションに名前やデザインを描き、自分たちが残したいレガシーを表現します。
今年の6年生は、この新たな伝統の幕開けとして、赤とオレンジのブロックを飾りました。これからのクラスがその後に続き、毎年追加されていくことで、ハーディングで思い出を作った生徒たちへの成長するオマージュとなるでしょう。
読んでくれてありがとう！
保護者・後見人コミュニティとして、今年度は約20万ドルを生徒たちのために集めることができました！これは過去最高の募金額です。助けてくれた人、行動してくれた人、ボランティア、寄付してくれた人、励ましてくれた人、ルームペアレント、委員会メンバー…すべての皆さんへ：あなたたちはこの学校にとって本当に大きな存在です！
この素晴らしいコミュニティの一員でいられることを光栄に思います。
