The Last PTA General Meeting for the 2024/25 academic year: Tuesday, June 3rd 6pm.
We invite you to join us for the last PTA meeting of the year, where we’ll have a potluck, reflect on the year, look towards the next, and get the work done together! Childcare will be provided on site. Please bring an easy-to-share/clean-up dish if you’d like. But it’s not a requirement. Come either way!

Spring Bike Swap
When: June 7th, 10:00
Where: Harding Elementary Yard
Who: Elementary-aged kids from the community, other schools are encouraged to attend
What: bring that bike you’ve outgrown and donate it to the pot. If the stars align, there will be a bike available for you to take home! If not, put your name and desired bike size on the list and we’ll let you know if one shows up
We’re collecting donations in advance, so if you have a bike that’s ready to be passed on to the next kid email Stuart at Stu@stusona.com to arrange a pickup.

Current needs:
- SPANISH TRANSLATION: We’re hoping to offer more translation options at PTA meetings, etc. And, we’d love some help. If you or someone you know might be interested/able to work with us, please contact the volunteer coordinator. Thank you!
- Besides ongoing needs of lunch/recess support, and classroom support via teacher and room parent requests, it’s time to make plans and think ahead to next year. WE COULD USE YOUR HELP! Public schools need all the love they can get right now. The Harding PTA is committed to the continued work of supporting our students and teachers. And it’s a rewarding, noble effort- with roles for everyone to play. Think about how you’d like to get involved, and reach out. We have so many committees, events, and projects running throughout the year. Step in where and when you can. (None of us are professional PTA-ers. We’re tired guardians who share the load.) Does your family love the ice-cream social? You could help with that. Have a favorite annual fundraising campaign? Join the team behind it. Go to the carnival every year as a tradition, or the campout? You could be a part of it!
Ongoing needs:
- Lunch recess support/presence – sign up here. Our goal is 4 days a year per family. Having extra adult presence on the yard helps students and staff!
- Fundraisers: these happen all year long! email the fundraising chair if you’d like to pitch in

Harding families –
It’s time to stand up and show our support for our amazing teachers and our school! You may have heard that school communities in WCCUSD are picketing (not striking) before and after school over the next few weeks. These gatherings are in support of our teachers, as they negotiate contracts. This picket/rally (UTR language) is part of an awareness campaign to alert the community to the issues described below. It is not a teachers strike, and will occur outside of instructional hours. We are using this opportunity to show our solidarity and as a time to engage as a community.
Why?
Right now, our teachers are fighting for safe, stable, and fully staffed schools — and for the resources they need to give our kids the education they deserve. They are advocating for smaller class sizes, better learning conditions, and fair pay to attract and retain great educators.
When we show up, we send a clear message that our whole community stands behind them — and that strong public schools are a priority for all of us.

Afterschool University & IFlip Gymnastics are partnering on a new Tk/Kinder – 5th grade after-school enrichment program that brings together pickup at local schools, homework support, reading, project-based learning with daily Gymnastics classes and recreation!
Located inside IFlip’s new state-of-the-art 21,000 square foot Gymnastics complex at 2700 Rydin Rd in the Richmond Annex (right next to Costco).
You are invited to register at the link below for the 2025/2026 school-year with Flip Academy.
Flip Academy 2025/2026 Registration
Kensington Hilltop, Fairmont, and Harding Elementaries will all include pickup from school each day.
Flip Academy operates Monday-Friday from school dismissal until 6:00pm.
Your deposit will cover the first month’s tuition and regular monthly tuition payments will begin in August. Tuition is split into 10 equal installments throughout the year.
Space is limited and early registration is highly recommended.
We highly recommend early registration as we will fill up, but also remind everyone that deposits and tuition payments are non-refundable. Please do not register if you are unsure of your plans for next year. Thank you!

Intercambio de bicicletas de primavera
Cuándo: 7 de junio, 10:00
Dónde: Patio de la Escuela Primaria Harding
Quién: Niños en edad escolar primaria de la comunidad, se anima a otras escuelas a asistir.
Qué: trae esa bicicleta que has dejado de usar y dóntala al fondo. Si las estrellas se alinean, habrá una bicicleta disponible para que la lleves a casa. Si no, pon tu nombre y la talla de bicicleta que deseas en la lista y te informaremos si aparece una.
Estamos recolectando donaciones por adelantado, así que si tienes una bicicleta que esté lista para ser pasada al siguiente niño, envía un correo a Stuart a Stu@stusona.com para coordinar una recogida.
Oportunidades de voluntariado

¡Es hora de ponernos de pie y mostrar nuestro apoyo a nuestros increíbles maestros y nuestra escuela! Es posible que haya escuchado que las comunidades escolares en WCCUSD están haciendo piquetes (no huelgas) antes y después de la escuela durante las próximas semanas. Estas reuniones son en apoyo a nuestros maestros, mientras negocian contratos. Este piquete/manifestación (lenguaje UTR) es parte de una campaña de concientización para alertar a la comunidad sobre los problemas que se describen a continuación. 春のバイク交換会
日時：6月7日 午前10時〜
場所：ハーディング小学校 校庭
対象：地域の小学生（他校の児童も歓迎）
内容：サイズが合わなくなった自転車を持ってきて、寄付してください。うまくいけば、あなたにぴったりの新しい自転車が見つかるかもしれません！もしその場で見つからなくても、ご希望のサイズとお名前をリストに記入いただければ、該当の自転車が届き次第ご連絡します。
事前の寄付も受け付けています。譲渡可能な自転車がありましたら、Stuart（Stu@stusona.com）までメールでご連絡ください。引き取りを調整いたします。

- 現在、公立学校は多くの支援を必要としています。ハーディングPTAは、今後も生徒と先生を支える活動に尽力していくことを誓っています。やりがいのある、意義深い取り組みであり、誰もが担える役割があります。ご自身がどのような形で関わりたいか、ぜひ考えてみてください。PTAでは、年間を通してさまざまな委員会、イベント、プロジェクトを運営しています。できる時に、できる形で関わっていただければ嬉しいです。

- ランチ休憩サポート/立会い: こちらから登録できます。各家庭で年間4日を目指しています。校庭に大人が増えることで、生徒やスタッフの助けになります！
- ファンドレイザー: 年間を通じて様々なイベントを行っています。参加をご希望の方はファンドレイジング担当者までメールしてください。

📣 今こそ立ち上がり、先生方と学校を応援する時です！
最近、WCCUSD（西コントラコスタ学区）内の学校コミュニティが、授業時間外にピケティング（抗議活動）を行っています。これはストライキではなく、教師たちの契約交渉をサポートするためのアクションです。
💬 なぜ今？
先生たちは今、安全で安定した教育環境、十分なスタッフ配置、そして質の高い教育を提供するためのリソースを求めて交渉中です。具体的には以下のような改善を目指しています：
- クラスの人数削減
- 学びやすい環境の確保
- 優秀な教師を引きつけ、長く勤めてもらうための適正な賃金
私たちが行動することで、「地域全体が先生たちを支えている」という強いメッセージを送ることができます！
サンフランシスコでの「学校を守ろう」ラリー

→ ベイエリア全体の教育関係者と家族が一堂に会する大規模な集会です。子どもと一緒にご参加大歓迎！

Afterschool University と IFlip Gymnastics は、Tk/Kinder から 5年生までを対象とした新しい放課後エンリッチメント・プログラム「Flip Academy」を共同で開始します。このプログラムでは、地域の小学校からのピックアップ、宿題サポート、読書、プロジェクト型学習、そして毎日の体操クラスやレクリエーションを組み合わせた内容となっています。
場所は、Richmond Annex（コストコのすぐ隣）にある、IFlip の最新設備を備えた 21,000 平方フィートの体操施設（住所：2700 Rydin Rd）です。
2025/2026 学年度の「Flip Academy」への登録を、以下のリンクからご案内しています。
Kensington Hilltop、Fairmont、Harding 小学校の児童には、毎日学校からのピックアップサービスが含まれます。
Flip Academy の運営時間は、月曜日から金曜日まで、学校の下校時刻から午後6時までです。
登録時のデポジットは初月の授業料に充当され、その後の月額授業料は8月から開始となります。授業料は年間を通して10等分されて請求されます。
定員に限りがありますので、早めの登録を強くおすすめします。ただし、デポジットおよび授業料は返金不可となっておりますので、翌年度のご予定が不確定な場合は登録をお控えください。

～ハーディングの廊下と心の中の洞察～
アシュバリー幼稚園の壁で発見：進行中の壁画！
コミュニティ・ペイント・デーに参加してくれたすべてのアーティストの皆さんに心から感謝します！大成功でした！なんと、初日のうちに第一層を仕上げることができました！
ただし、まだ完成ではありません…今後もぜひ壁画の様子をチェックしてください。
クリステンが作業を続けている姿が見られるかもしれません。これから一週間ほどかけて、ディテールの追加と仕上げを行う予定です。

お子さんの教室に貢献したい場合、こちらがスタート地点として最適です。
