Please vote! This is your last chance to vote for the parent/community member representative to our School Site Council. Voting will close Monday, October 24 at 8:30am. 2022 Harding Parent/Community Member Ballot
School Site Council meetings are open to all. The next meeting will be Tuesday, October 25 via zoom. Here is the agenda; new members will be introduced and start of school data will be discussed.
Then, get ready for Halloween. Here are the school guidelines to assure a safe and happy Halloween school day:
Classroom teachers will give specific direction on wearing or bringing costumes to school. We recommend that a simple costume or some basic pieces be worn to school and played in for the day with easy accessories to add for the parade. We do not have the time and space for costume changes at school so “easy” is the key.
- Any costume adjustments must be able take place in the classroom independently by students.
- Costumes may NOT include weapons of any kind (guns, knives, swords, ropes, nun-chucks, wands, whips, hatchets, etc.). Save them for trick or treat time.
- Masks and hoods that cover the head and/or face may only be worn during the parade.
- In general, costumes must follow the district dress code with appropriate body coverage and safe walking shoes (no slippers or heels).
- Family Members who want to watch their child’s parade must enter the yard from the parking lot (entrance on Fairmount Ave.) and stay in the designated viewing area. Teachers will share what time they will be parading directly with their class families. Buddy classes will be walking together!
- Families, please do not send children to school with any Halloween candy. They will need healthy meals, to help support their learning and/or a pleasant day. Candy brought to school will be confiscated and should not be included in home lunches and snacks on any day.
- NOT wearing a costume is TOTALLY OK:)

Yes, in order to allow enough time for our volunteers to translate our e-newsletter into multiple languages, they are going to need more time so we will be experimenting and moving the enews publish date to Wednesdays instead. Thank you for understanding and we apologize for any inconvenience. But, yay no more Google Translate!

Also, we are still looking for more volunteer translators and organizers, so that we can all share the load. Please email enews@hardingpta.org if you have a little time to help.
The Walk & Roll is Tomorrow, October 27th!
On October 27th, students will spend their time at PE lapping the track in support of fun enrichment programs at Harding.
They will collect pledges for each lap they do, and we’ll tally up our total mileage to see how far we can travel when we work together!
This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year: Join in!
