MENSAJE DE LA DIRECTORA TAKIMOTO (DEBAJO)

Hello Harding Families,

I wish you a sincere happy new year but with a heavy heart due to the political climate and continued health threat.  With all that is going on, I will keep my remarks short within a dense resource share.  First, if you need help with talking to your child(ren) about Wednesday’s riot, here are a couple of the tools shared with teachers:

For those of you that have been asking the teachers and me for continued resources to support learning at home, information about a workshop hosted by The Teachers College Reading and Writing Project at Columbia University is on this flyer: Free Parent/Caregiver Workshop.

Next, about twenty of us enjoyed a virtual coffee hour last month to just chat and share the latest school information.  This week I will host a Family Lunch Hour on Thursday 1/14 from noon to 1:00pm.  Find the dates and links for upcoming informational meetings and events on this flyer, including future dates for virtual coffees and lunches, where you can connect to Harding community members and share information and get questions answered.

Finally, School Secretary Dorene Pinkston and I are getting ready for the 2021-2022 school year now, which starts with Registration for all families with new enrollees for next year, on Tuesday, January 19 at 9:00am. Click this link for the presentation slides and information resources: Registration and Harding Elementary Information Session.  Feel free to share these presentation slides with anyone you know that is new to the community.  For Spanish translation of these materials, or get registration help with someone in Spanish, email Harding Clerk, Nancy Razo nancy.razo@wccusd.net, or call her between 8am and 1pm daily at 510 231-1413.  Many thanks to Ted Lam, Maggie Whitaker, Monica Ng, Anna Mahony, Lisa Fox-Mullen, and Amy-lyn Fischer joining us for the information sessions and extending such a warm welcome to incoming families.

Take care and stay safe,

Mrs. Takimoto

Sra. Takimoto
