We need you!

Harding is lucky to have an active parent community with volunteers staffing the library, working in the classrooms, chaperoning field trips, and much, much more!

Here's how you can volunteer:

IN THE CLASSROOM: Assist individual students or small groups with reading, math, or science activities. Help students create an arts or crafts project for our Fall Auction.

AT HOME: Volunteer at home planning events, designing flyers, doing mailings, or website maintenance.

IN THE LIBRARY: Staff the Library

CLASSROOM PARENT: Work with teacher to plan classroom activities and parties.

YARD DUTY/CROSSING GUARD: Before and after school available. Lunchtime supervision needed.

SCHOOL WIDE EVENTS: Chaparone field trips, help with the annual spelling bee or Spring Concert. Donate snacks for testing.

TRANSLATION: Translate written materials into foreign and sign languages.

OTHER SKILLS NEEDED: Whatever else you have to offer! Call the Harding office at 231-1413.

Volunteering is Easy!

If you want to assist with take-home projects, contact your teacher directly.  No other process is necessary.

For parents who want to volunteer in the classroom or around school, there are a few more steps to ensure the safety of our children:

  1. Pick up your volunteer packet from the front office.  It will contain information about this process, a volunteer form, and the principal's letter.
  2. Take a TB Test.  You can either use your doctor or a WCCUSD doctor -- tests cost $10.00.  The test needs to be checked 48 to 72 hours after being given so plan a little time for this step.
  3. Submit your information to the District office.  You will need to bring the TB test results, your volunteer form, principal's letter, and picture ID.
These guidelines provide additional information for other types of volunteering.  Get started today -- stop by the office or call 231-1413 for your volunteer package.  Thank you for your interest!
